This year’s track team was amazing!!! The coaches were awesome and the kids were great athletes. After interviewing the coaches, Mr. Fisher and Mrs. Gilpin, I found out that they had as much fun as I did. Mrs. Gilpin said that this team was the most fun group ever. Mr. Fisher on the other hand said that the team was great but he had a BIG grudge against working with Mrs. Gilpin. He hated it.

            “When I jumped out of the shed and sprayed y’all with silly string,” was Mrs. Gilpin’s most favorite memory of the season. Mr. Fisher doesn’t have one because he lost his memory. It makes perfect sense that they were the coaches considering they did track when they were younger. They both ran the mile and the 100 meter dash. Mr. Fisher also wowed the crowd with his high jumping skills.

            Mrs. Gilpin’s message to all of you sport fans out there is that hard work pays off but having fun is the most important thing. Mr. Fisher’s is quite simple: “Go fast or go home.”

            After getting the final scores from the district tournament, the Euclid girls came in first, then Goddard, third was Powell and then came Newton. For the boys, we have Powell in first, Euclid, Newton, then Goddard,

            After doing track, I learned that if you have a dream, go after it. Don’t hold back and wait to see what others think of you. Just do it.
