FEP day is one of the most popular days for the 7th grade CoreVettes. FEP Day stands for Famous European Person Day. Mr. Bond the social studies teacher has been teaching for about 29 years and has done FEP Day for 25 of those years.
FEP Day started with one of Mr. Bond’s former students. For her oral, she did High Tea, and brought in a service of silver china and acted as a maid for her visual aid. While Mr. Bond was being served tea, she thought it would be nice to give his students tea also. The costumes came from students using costumes as their visual aid in their orals. Also, Mr. Bond’s liking for Halloween, and the costumes helped out with the idea of dressing up like a famous person.
“FEP Day is a ripple affect. It started small, than started to grow,” said Mr. Bond. And indeed it is. It went from just serving students tea, and then it went to the crazy costume day it is now. But FEP Day is not just Mr. Bond. He has a lot of volunteers: his CoreVette teammates, and his student assistants. According to Mr. Bond, “Student Assistants are paramount in helping with FEP Day.” FEP Day took many years to perfect, but it surely has proven to be an exciting day for the CoreVettes.
